Pakistan Independence Day Celebrations

On August 08, 2019 to commemorate 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan a colourful event was organized at Computer Connection Institute auditorium by the students and faculty of Virtual University Sialkot Campuses. Function was attended by about 400 students, 100 plus participants, organizers and 20 plus faculty and supporting staff of VU Sialkot campuses. The Institute auditorium was decorated artistically with hand made flowers, charts and quotations. National Flag made with hard charts and crinkled crepe paper was pasted on the wall a full three days of effort. Celebrations started with recitation of Holy Quran. VU students Girls and Boys participated in patriotic songs, skits, speeches and enthralled the audience. More colour was added to the event by paintings on the auditorium wall. Chief guest Sohail Khan CEO and Campuses Manager Madam Naurin Ali of Computer Connection Institute highlighted importance of this day and said that although it is a happy occasion that we are a free country but at the same time we must remember that more than one million our elders laid down their lives and property for this piece of land which is our duty to protect and defend. He added that best way to honour their sacrifices is to study work hard and become a nation for all to respect. In his speech he also condemned the brutality of Indian Govrnment and expressed his deep concern on current prevailing unrest in occupied Kashmir. Students also showed their solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Pak army through their speeches and songs. They said they are ready and vow to take any action necessary to stand by people of kashmir in their freedom struggle. In the end Chief Guest distributed certificates among the participants and event organizers followed by singing of the National Anthem which aroused feelings of patriotism among the audience. Chief Guest Sohail Khan also joined the students in singing “Shukriya Pakistan, Shukriya Pakistan, Muskara Pakistan, Muskara Pakistan”.
